Word of the Week: temporal (TEM-por-ul).
Worldly, earthly, and temporary, as opposed to things that are heavenly or spiritual. Most of us spend far too much time focusing on temporal treasures. From the Latin tempus, time. Related words: temporary, a temp (in an office, for instance), tempest (a storm from a season, hence related to time), tempo (the time or speed of music), temporality (existing within time), and temporize (to avoid making a decision in order to gain time).
