Word of the Week: exacerbate (eg-zas-er-bate).

To increase, aggravate or make worse. Negative connotation. Having my cousin around only exacerbated my anxiety.

Writer’s Word of the Week: Hi-lo book.

A book, often for children or adults learning English, which offers subjects of high interest at a low reading level. I’ve been hired to write a hi-lo book on Babe Ruth.

Question: How do writers plan the ending of their novel before beginning to write?

Answer: Most writers sketch out a simple plot skeleton that will guide them through the beginning, middle, and ending. My book, THE PLOT SKELETON, details how to do this in a simple, easy to remember format.
